About
Edward Alan Silver is a multiple award-winning songwriter from New York City whose compositions have been recorded and performed worldwide. His music has also been heard on the long-running ABC daytime drama “All My Children.”
A classically trained pianist since the age of 7, Ed started writing songs when he turned 10 and taught himself to play guitar at 17. After college and graduate school, Ed became an editor and writer for a well-known international newsmagazine. In mid career, he left the magazine and, while interviewing for jobs in the shrinking field of print journalism, returned to his songwriting roots. Publishing offers soon followed and Ed realized that he needed to make music his life's work.
These days, Ed enjoys working with such notable talents as Adam Cunningham (NBC’s “The Voice” semifinalist), Matt Dame (CMT’s Next Superstar), Rian Swanepoel (South Africa Idols finalist), and producer/performer Michéal Castaldo (José Feliciano). Country music took hold and in 2024, Ed was named as a finalist/runner-up in the Songwriters Guild of America Country Song Contest, which garnered him invitations to perform in New York and Nashville. He is currently developing material for a variety of recording artists around the world.
